QUESTION:
"Hello, I read the article that was in Woman's World and it gave me hope. I have been trying to find a way to make extra money so I can't quit a very stressful job. I know I'm lucky to have a job but this job makes me physically ill and I don't know how much longer I can force myself to go there.
My friend and I have placed adds to clean houses but haven't had much luck. I think people feel guilty about spending money on something they can do themselves. So I'm hoping I can find something with all of the inormation you have available, the problem is I don't know where to start, what to read first, what to do????? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time."
ANSWER:
Dear Stressed:,
First ((Hugs)) to you! Stressful jobs are very difficult to cope with.
I know you'd like nothing more than to jump ship, but my advice is to start a little smaller and build up to a point where you feel comfortable forsaking your paycheck with your current company.
Do you like customer service? Then offer call representative work from home might be for you. You can make a part-time to full-time income and you don't have to do sales. Many companies offer order-taking or general customer service jobs. The same goes for data entry, if this is of interest to you, read more here http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1802964/work_at_home_job_facts_data_entry.html?cat=31
I'm not sure how much your current job offers in income, if it's part-time, you may find steady relief through survey, mystery shopping, ebay, and focus groups to supplement your income. You'll find a range of opportunities and descriptions/requirements/facts here: http://freebiemoms.blogspot.com/2009/03/work-at-home-job-facts-online-surveys.html
My general philosophy is the old-age adage: "where there's a will, there's a way." Take a look at what you can live without, where you can cut corners and save, and then how much money you realistically need to keep afloat. From that point, it will be easier to make decisions on what opportunities fit best with your lifestyle and your overall objectives.
I hope this helps a bit... feel free to write me and ask more questions, I'll do my best to steer you in the right direction!
